14-year-old Emily cherishes her long-time friendships with Coop, Kate, Nate, and Pete. 5 group hate losing Pete, who is forced to move away. All of them participate in a community theater production as 4 group. Understudies, Coop and Kate, take the lead roles when illness strikes two main characters. Sexual temptation and alcohol overtake the four of them after they celebrate the play’s completion. Emily begins a friendship with Ethan and that summer works in the office of a construction company, moving her closer to her engineering dream. After months of being apart, 4 group come together as singers at an outside church Christmas program.


Both Emily and Kate lose parents, Kate’s dad and Emily’s mom. 5 group (with Pete back) gather after they all graduate from college and shares their jobs, schooling and future plans. Emily acknowledges her nagging doubt about her mom (Ann). She finds a diary hidden in a dress in her mom’s closet. While reading the diary Emily learns about her mom’s past. Together Now is the final book of The Jenny/Ann Trilogy including Christmas Bright and Baskets on Christmas Lane.
